Lumev Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 14, 2026
Last updated: September 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Lumev iOS application (“Lumev” or the “App”) handles information. Lumev is provided by ILTERRA (“ILTERRA,” the “Developer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Lumev is designed as an offline light meter and exposure-planning tool for film photography. The App performs its core functions locally on the user’s device. We do not operate a Lumev account system, cloud service, advertising platform, or analytics service, and the App does not automatically send your photographs, exposure readings, presets, feedback, or other in-app content to us.
1. Privacy at a Glance
- No Lumev account or registration is required.
- Lumev has no developer-operated backend or cloud synchronization service.
- The App contains no advertising or third-party advertising SDKs.
- The App does not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- Camera processing, light metering, exposure calculations, previews, and adaptive calibration are performed on the device.
- Exposure history, equipment and film presets, filters, reference images, spot-metering images, developed-frame attachments, and user feedback are stored locally on the device.
- Information leaves the App only when you deliberately use an Apple system feature to share or export it, or when the operating system includes App data in a device backup according to your settings.
2. Information Processed Locally by Lumev
To provide its features, Lumev may process and store the following information on your device:
Camera and metering information
When you grant camera access, Lumev uses the camera feed to display a live preview, analyze scene brightness, calculate exposure values, and create reference images for measurements. The App may record technical camera values associated with a measurement, such as exposure duration, sensor ISO, aperture reported by the device, the active device camera, and the general device model.
This processing takes place locally. Lumev does not use facial recognition, biometric identification, or cloud-based image analysis, and these camera images and measurements are not automatically transmitted to the Developer.
Photographs selected by you
You may choose a developed photograph from your photo library and attach it to an exposure-history entry. Selection is performed through Apple’s system photo picker. Lumev receives the image you explicitly select and stores a local copy for the feature you requested. The App does not upload that image to us.
Presets, history, and calibration data
Lumev may store equipment and workflow information you enter or generate, including camera, lens, film, filter, focal-length and exposure settings; measurement history; notes and ratings; the exposure settings actually used; and feedback about a developed photograph. Lumev may use this information locally to adapt future exposure recommendations to your preferences and equipment.
All such records and learned calibration values remain in the App’s local storage unless you choose to export or share them.
3. Information We Do Not Collect Through the App
Lumev does not automatically collect or transmit to the Developer:
- your name, email address, postal address, telephone number, or account credentials;
- precise or approximate location;
- contacts, calendars, messages, or unrelated files;
- payment or financial information;
- health or fitness information;
- advertising identifiers or data used for targeted advertising;
- browsing history, search history, or activity in other apps;
- photographs, live camera frames, measurement history, presets, notes, ratings, or calibration data created in Lumev; or
- analytics, telemetry, or behavioral profiles generated by a third-party SDK.
Lumev does not combine App activity with information from other companies for advertising, measurement, or profiling.
4. Permissions
Lumev may request the following iOS permissions when they are needed:
- Camera: to show a live preview, measure light, calculate exposure, and save private reference frames for measurements.
- Photo Library: to allow you to select a developed photograph to attach to your private exposure history.
You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Revoking a permission may prevent the related feature from working, but it does not cause Lumev to send existing local data to us.
5. How Information Is Used
Information processed by the App is used only to provide features you request, including:
- measuring scene brightness and calculating exposure;
- presenting equivalent shutter-speed and aperture combinations;
- creating general and spot-metering reference images;
- maintaining your exposure history and equipment presets;
- attaching developed photographs to history entries; and
- adapting recommendations locally from your feedback and prior results.
We do not use in-app content for advertising, marketing profiles, data brokerage, or training external artificial-intelligence models.
6. Sharing, Export, and Third Parties
Lumev does not automatically disclose your in-app content to the Developer or to third parties.
If you choose an export or sharing action, iOS will present destinations available on your device. You decide what to share and where to send it. Once information is sent to another person, application, storage provider, or service, its handling is governed by that recipient’s terms and privacy practices. We do not control and are not responsible for a third party selected by you.
Lumev currently includes no third-party advertising, analytics, tracking, or cloud-storage SDKs.
Apple distributes the App and provides operating-system services such as permissions, the photo picker, sharing, and device backup. Apple may independently process App Store transactions, downloads, diagnostics, or other device and service information under Apple’s own privacy policy and your Apple settings. That processing is not performed by Lumev. Any system diagnostic or aggregate App Store information Apple may make available to developers is not used by us to identify you or to access your locally stored Lumev content.
7. Device and Cloud Backups
Lumev stores its data in the App’s private container on your device. Depending on your iOS and Apple account settings, the operating system may include some App data in an iCloud or device backup. Such backup processing is provided and controlled by Apple, not by Lumev, and we do not have access to your backups.
Restoring or transferring an Apple device may also restore local Lumev data if it was included in the applicable backup. Availability and retention of backups depend on Apple’s services and your settings.
8. Retention and Deletion
Local Lumev data remains on your device until you delete it through available App controls, delete the App, erase the device, or the operating system otherwise removes it. Deleting the App generally removes its local container from that device. Copies may remain in an Apple-managed backup until that backup is replaced or deleted under Apple’s rules and your settings.
Because we do not receive or maintain a server-side copy of your Lumev library, we cannot view, recover, modify, delete, or return your locally stored measurements, photographs, presets, or calibration data on your behalf.
9. Security
Lumev relies on the iOS application sandbox and the security protections of your device to protect local data. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device security, including a passcode, operating-system updates, physical control of the device, and any backups you consider necessary.
No storage method or electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure or continuously available. This Privacy Policy describes our data-handling practices; it does not guarantee that locally stored information can never be lost, corrupted, or accessed by someone who gains access to your device or backups.
10. Local Data Responsibility and Limitation of Liability
Because the Developer does not possess your locally stored Lumev content, the Developer cannot monitor it, restore it after device or storage failure, resolve access to an Apple-managed backup, or remotely remove it from a lost or compromised device.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer is not responsible for loss, corruption, unavailability, or unauthorized disclosure of local App data resulting from device loss or damage, deletion of the App or its data, operating-system failure, backup failure, unauthorized device access, a user-directed export or disclosure, the acts or omissions of Apple or another third party, or circumstances outside the Developer’s reasonable control. Nothing in this Privacy Policy excludes or limits any right, remedy, warranty, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
11. Children’s Privacy
Lumev is a general photography utility and is not designed to solicit personal information from children. Because the App does not operate accounts or transmit in-app content to us, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through Lumev. A parent or guardian who permits a child to use the device should manage the device’s permissions, sharing options, and backups.
12. Communications With Us
If you contact the Developer outside the App, for example through email or the support channel shown on the App Store product page, we will receive the information you voluntarily provide, such as your email address, message, and any attachments. This information is not automatically collected by Lumev. We use it to respond to your request, maintain security, comply with law, and protect our legal rights, and retain it only as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
Please do not send photographs, measurement archives, or other sensitive content unless it is necessary for your support request and you are comfortable sharing it.
13. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights concerning personal information held by a business. For content stored only inside Lumev, those rights can be exercised directly through the App and device controls because we do not possess a server-side copy and cannot identify or retrieve it for you.
For information you voluntarily send to us outside the App, you may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion, or to exercise another applicable privacy right. We may need enough information to verify and process the request, and legal exceptions may apply.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Lumev, legal requirements, or our practices. The revised policy will identify its effective date and will be made available through the App Store product page or another location accessible from the App. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent before a material change takes effect.
